VOLUNTEER WITH US

Upcycled by Fuze Ecoteer focuses on a project that involves cleaning up the rivers in Selangor, starting with the Sungai Kayu Ara river.

We aim to conduct such projects by employing the unemployed and vulnerable groups on a daily basis to clean up the rivers.

DONATE TO OUR CLEAN UPS

Volunteer river clean up - medium.jpg

We utilize the collected donations into the basic costs of organizing regular cleanups, such as transportations and supplies and paying daily rates for unemployed and people from vulnerable groups.

For every RM 100 that is donated to us, we will remove 30kg worth of river waste that pollutes our environment.

Hence, you know that every cent that you donate helps the greater picture!

BIN AND DRAIN ADOPTION

30% of ocean plastic waste originates from drains from the streets.  If we are to keep our rivers clean we need to ensure we keep our streets and drains clear.  This also helps to reduce flooding caused by blocked drains.

We are calling for people all over Malaysia to stand up and YES, I will volunteer to keep certain drains and streets clear.

We also work with dive centres, resorts, restaurants, and general shops to adopt bins.  We don't want to increase our tax for more regular waste disposal BUT overflowing bins are a common sight. So our solution is a bin adoption programme whereby you volunteer to adopt a bin to manage it and to ensure the waste in the bin is managed.

GO PLASTIC FREE

Plastic free resorts in Perhentian Islands.jpg

If we are to tackle the global plastic pandemic then we need to reduce our use of it.

Dive Centres and Resorts in the Perhentian Islands have signed up to offer water refills, No Single Use Plastics and recycling facilities and in return we have promoted this map to tourists visiting the islands.

As individuals we need to support organisations doing their bit to reduce the use of plastic.

BE THE RIVERS EYES AND EARS

Over 50% of the waste found in rivers that ends up in the sea originates from illegal dumping sites.

The local authorities of Malaysia do respond and act when incidents of illegal dumping and chemical spills are reported.

However, they can not have people everywhere so it's our social responsibility to report anything you see happening, including

  • Illegal dumping of solid and liquid waste,

  • Paint or chemicals being poured into drains,

  • Smelly or bubbles going into rivers/drains.

If you see anything report to
